Hi, I’m Hakeen. I’m an open-minded, down-to-earth therapist who works with adults seeking support through anxiety, depression, stress, anger, and life transitions. I have experience across psychiatric settings and community mental health, which means I’ve worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds and understand how layered our stories can be. Clients describe me as warm, steady, and easy to talk to, and my goal is to offer a space where you feel understood and supported while you work toward real change.
I wanted to become a psychotherapist since I was 9 years old, after reading an article written by a psychologist about fear. I got my BA in Psychology from Iona College and my master's from Yeshiva University. I began to provide psychotherapy after the aftermath of 9/11. I have provided psychotherapy at a hospital, schools, in-home, and at an outpatient clinic.
I work with young adults and couples who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in anxious patterns, or disconnected from themselves or their relationships. My background includes supporting people through life transitions, grief, anxiety, and relationship stress. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, supported, and understood.
