I chose to become a therapist because I am amazed at the healing process through human connection. As complex beings, I am left in awe at the strength and resilience each individual possesses. I believe that despite difficulties faced, we have the power to rewrite our own story and live to fullest most authentic selves.
Our work together will not only aid you in overcoming any difficulties you may be facing but help understand patterns to develop tools that can be used in everyday life.
I aim to provide a healing space through compassion, support and acceptance. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic theory, however, I often utilize tools from different modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and inner child healing.
I hope to have the opportunity to hear from you and help you achieve your greater self.
My practice is unique because I integrate strength-based and person-centered approach using CBT, mindfulness techniques, culturally sensitive, humanistic approach tailored support precisely to your needs. This allows us to find the pathways that work best for you, whether through conversation, practical skill-building, or other gentle, effective ways of exploring and healing.

Congratulations! Thank you for trusting me to support you on your journey toward enhanced mental health and well-being. My name is Dr. Erica Strother, DNP I am a doctorate-prepared, dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Health and Psychiatry as well as the founder of, Elysian Integrative Health and Wellness Group. Over 20 years of healthcare experience have fueled my passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care that promotes overall health, both physical and mental.
My dedication to healthcare was inspired by my grandmother, who worked as a Home Health Aide, and I grew up with a deep appreciation for compassionate care. I began my own journey in healthcare by working as a Home Health Aide, which further fueled my passion for helping others.
My commitment to healthcare also grew when I developed a personal routine to manage the academic and emotional demands of earning two degrees simultaneously from 2 different universities. Ultimately, this dedication led me to complete my terminal degree in nursing as a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Since that time, I have devoted my life and career to supporting individuals in achieving better physical and mental health.
At Elysian Integrative Health and Wellness Group, I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, academic stress for college and graduate students, hormone therapy for men and women, and various other health concerns. I aim to create a compassionate, supportive environment where you feel truly heard. Through a combination of evidence-based medication management and supportive psychotherapy, I personalize each treatment plan to meet your unique needs, guiding you toward better health and resilience.
Sometimes life invites us to pause. You might feel the weight of high expectations, catch yourself saying yes when you mean no, notice the restless hum of a mind that won’t settle, or keep moving so fast you never give yourself a moment to slow down. Maybe you notice old patterns such as people pleasing, putting work first, getting caught in draining relationships, using habits or substances to numb out, or wrestling with the restlessness of ADHD. You may even sense that something in your life is ready for a shift, even if you’re not yet sure what it will look like.
Before becoming a therapist I spent years in the fast-paced corporate world of New York City advertising. Stepping away from that hustle and into the work of healing continues to shape how I sit with others.
I am a LCSW with a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University, with five years in private practice and over a decade in the integrative wellness world. I'm also 200-hour yoga teacher certified and a psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy facilitator in IRB approved clinical trials. Training in these areas, along with years of yoga and mindfulness practice, has deepened my understanding that mind, body, and spirit are not separate, but part of one whole.
I work with anxious, highly sensitive, and neurodivergent adults, and with people navigating complex trauma, relationship struggles, addiction, career changes, and other significant life transitions. Together we listen beneath the noise. We invite the body to speak, the mind to soften, and the heart and spirit to remember its belonging until what you discover is not something to chase, but the quiet presence of the Self you have always been.
