I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Felician University. My passion stems from my life experience, growing up with a brother with severe Autism and OCD.
I appreciate and value quality time with family and friends. I have always been an advocate of the importance of the mind/body connection and the role physical fitness and nutrition play in our overall well-being.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified School Social Worker with over 20 years of experience providing mental health services to adults, adolescents, children, and families. I have experience working across clinical, medical, school and community settings. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, and life transitions.
My goal is to help clients build insight, resilience, and practical skills that promote long-term emotional well-being and improved functioning at home, school/work, and in relationships.
Guided by my persistent and deep curiosity about the human condition, I now bring over 12 years of clinical experience to my work. Within a secure, collaborative therapeutic relationship, we work together to heal emotional wounds, strengthen inner resources, and integrate all parts of the Self—fostering a more meaningful, conscious engagement with the world.
My clients can expect emotional and psychological support, thoughtful insight and guidance, and skill-building, all in service of empowerment, growth and transformation.
I have been working in the mental health and substance abuse field for 10 years. I received my degree in counseling from Monmouth University and completed my field work in a growing substance abuse facility. In my time in this field I have learned ways to approach certain issues with a sense of assertiveness while also being able to provide understanding and validation to my clients.
As a queer, first-generation American woman, I know what it is like to feel misunderstood, underrepresented, and unheard in a therapy room. I specialize in working with diverse individuals and couples, particularly those with QTBIPOC identities and creative backgrounds. My approach to counseling is trauma-informed, emotion-focused, and grounded in attachment theory.
Hi, I'm Amanda, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of RIVE Counseling. I support women who are feeling emotionally overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but privately struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, relationship stress, or feeling disconnected from themselves. My goal is to create a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and start making sense of what you've been carrying.
