Hi, my name is Krista. I am a youthful, Caribbean American with a passion for helping individuals achieve mental wellness and personal growth. I am a licensed therapist with a diverse background of experience in providing compassionate and effective therapy to clients. I am also open to integrating faith-based principles with evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help individuals navigate life's challenges.
I am an LCSW with over 10 years of experience in the field. I've worked in hospital settings, inpatient and outpatient mental health, and telehealth therapy. I draw from a wide range of modalities to provide personalized therapeutic solutions and am certified in EMDR, REBT, and am in training as a sex therapist. I have experience and expertise in treating mood disorders, trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, and neurodivergent people.
Welcome and thank you for taking that first step in supportive self-care. I am Shaqueen Walcott a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as an Advanced CASAC. Effective treatment demands deep engagement combined with an appropriate level of intervention. Working together, we will begin to rebuild, resilience, trust, and most importantly hope.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with 13 years of experience, who brings a distinct level of insight to clients as a serving New York City Firefighter. I provide specialized support to first responders, children, families, and individuals navigating challenges related to substance abuse, trauma, and depression.
My clinical foundation is built on a Master's degree from Fordham University and intensive training in evidence-based modalities, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, and Family Systems, for effective clinical results and sustained client change.
I have spent a majority of my training working across the lifespan from childhood to adulthood, and within family systems. I am trained in helping clients with stress and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, family conflicts, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and depression. Some of the individuals that I work with are in recovery from eating and substance-related disorders. My clients often face school and work avoidance and may find it difficult to do things they once enjoyed.
I have witnessed many of clients alleviate long-standing struggles/challenges related to Complex PTSD, unresolved childhood trauma, and related addiction issues by working in this way.
