Hello — I’m Dr. Nikkah, a licensed clinical psychologist based in New York City with over 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate interpersonal relationships and personal conflicts. I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues or life transitions. My therapeutic style is eclectic, as I have training in a multitude of therapeutic modalities, e.g. CBT, psychodynamic therapy, solution focused etc. to best match your specific needs.
I am trained as an educator teaching dialogue communication skills, emotional skills and social awareness for navigating a complex and diverse world. Becoming a therapist is my second career path, and this background has allowed me to engage with more of the depth of factors contributing to distress in people’s lives. I bring a wide-ranging approach to understanding the depth of harm and challenges in your life so that we can move towards thorough therapeutic solutions.
I have over 20 years of experience in working with people to help them move their lives forward in healthy and positive directions. I utilize a integrative approach tailoring therapy to the needs of my clients. My training is extensive helping people recover from trauma, depression and anxiety.
My approach will be determined by your needs. Tus necesidades determinaran mi enfoque.
What can clients expect from their first session with you?My hope is that my clients leave my sessions feeling supported and empowered for the days ahead. Mi esperanza es que mis clientes salgan de mis sesiones sintiéndose validados y empoderados para los dias siguientes.
Welcome, I'm so glad you're here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working with children, teens, young adults, adults, and families. I've been working with clients in New York for over 30 years after completing psychoanalytic training. My decades of experience enable me to grasp and appreciate the complexity of the people I work with as I guide them to achieve lasting change.
