I’m a therapist who’s passionate about helping people find freedom from the weight of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and addictions — and all the messy stuff that can come with them. My background is in psychology and social work, and along the way I’ve trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as DBT, IFS, CBT, and EMDR. Basically, I like having a lot of tools so we can figure out together what works best for you.
At the heart of my work, I believe healing happens through real connection and the courage to be vulnerable. My role is to walk alongside you through the hard, scary parts so you don’t have to face them alone. My hope is that together we’ll untangle what’s been holding you back so you can reconnect with your path, your purpose, and your own free spirit.
I am a licensed psychologist with over fifteen years of experience providing therapy in both Spanish and English. I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Indiana University and my doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My doctoral program emphasized multicultural competence and using research to inform practice. Therefore, I use an evidence-based, cultural and trauma-informed approach in therapy. I have worked with Veterans, women and men diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, women diagnosed with breast cancer, and individuals experiencing substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. I am licensed in the states of Texas and Iowa.
